Carles Costa showed strong growth, self-reflection, hard-working, intensive self-learning through books/videos/trainings, being clever and pushing hard to develop his technical skills, combined with a strong interest to be part of the bigger picture of MCON and MCG, beside doing his daily work. That’s also why he was already years ago part of the Local Direction Circle (LDC).
Carles will be involved into overall strategy topics in his position as Associate Director with a strong focus on China and Asia in general. He will be responsible for team culture, team management, working style, project process methodologies, and resource planning. Furthermore he will be part of the quarterly MCON Tech-Meeting where technical directions and paths are discussed. Beside his current technical expertise, Carles will need to learn, understand, and think like an entrepreneur, which you have to be in such a position. Understanding the correlation between R&D, paid projects, billable team members, costs, and the drive for innovation, and their balance to each other.
Carles was a strong initiator and driver of the DevOps culture within MCG which gave us a good advantage over other competitors. It also shows how important it is to have the right interesting projects, in this case FairGarage, which allowed him to experiment and develop innovative solutions together with Ruben as Senior Architect and others from CLOUD.
The step making him an Associate Director helps to give him a title which is important for his customer contacts, proof of what he achieved, and for us having a trusted team leader who takes care about the team – officially – customers, partners and projects.
Congratulations Carles for this very important step of your professional life!
